Sludge from STP is fed in two digesters & for anaerobic digestion.
City’s sewage is treated at sewage treatment plant jagjeetpur. The sludge from STP is fed in two digesters for anaerobic digestion. In the process biogas is generated. Since there are no facilities for refining, the biogas is being flared.
We proposed to take over these facilities on lease, refine biogas to bio CNG and generate revenue. Pursuant to our proposal, the government (Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan) invited expression of interest through an e-tendering process. We emerged winner in the e tender process.

Guarantee
Bank guarantee of 10% of the bid amount has been submitted and an agreement has since been executed with Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan.
Major terms and conditions of the agreement are as under:
Nature of work:
Utilisation of Biogas and other By-products of STP on revenue sharing basis. The scope of work also includes Operation & maintenance of Biogas generating unit.
Period:
93 months. The contract period may be extended on recommendations of Departmental Review / Tender Committee.
Plant & Machineries that have been handed over to us pursuant to the agreement are:
- The sludge collection unit.
- The sludge thickener unit
- The pumping stations
- Both the digesters (02 nos) and gas holding units
- All the beds (12 nos) for drying /dewatering the sludge.
- Gas burning unit (02 nos).
- All other plant & machineries relating to Biogas generating plant
- Land for installing bio CNG filling station
